Live Oak 34, River Valley 26 – The Live Oak Lions won their second straight game as they won an eight-point shootout with the River Valley Falcons on Friday, October 3.
River Valley senior running back Jesus Fernandez ran the ball 17 times for 145 yards and two scores. Falcons senior wide receiver Joshua Kellas ran the ball in from 30-yards out for a score and also caught a pass for 33 yards.
Live Oak senior quarterback Bradley Perigo had a great balance of tossing and running the ball with 70 passing yards and 73 yards on the ground for two scores.
Lions senior running back Ian Miranda was a juggernaut as he rushed for 188 yards on 26 carries for two touchdowns.

Live Oak is scheduled to travel to Oroville and take on Las Plumas at Harrison Stadium with kickoff at 7:30 to open Westside League play.
River Valley continues their independent schedule as they host Bear Creek (Stockton) this upcoming Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Sutter 62, El Camino 0 – The Sutter Huskies have proved each week in 2025 that they are the top dogs in our area, but they added another tally as they won their seventh consecutive game, with a blowout win over El Camino.
After Sutter posted 62 points for the second straight week, seven different Huskies found the end zone on a rushing touchdown as well.

Sutter senior quarterback Braden Scritchfield tossed 121 yards in the air after four completions, along with two passing touchdowns.
Huskies junior running back Losi Asiata led the Sutter combined 344 rushing yard attack with his fifth-straight 100-yard game of the year.
As the offense continued to excel, the Huskies defense posted another impressive low-scoring performance. The defense has averaged surrendering 12 points per game this season.
Sutter will be on the road for the next couple of weeks as they are scheduled to play at Rio Linda on Friday night with kickoff scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
Wheatland 51, Colfax 33 – The Wheatland Pirates rebounded from their blowout loss to Lincoln on September 26 as they pulled away from the Colfax Falcons in the second half on Friday, October 3 for an 18-point victory.
Wheatland received the blessing of some health coming back and new additions making their impact on the game as junior quarterback Joseph Franklin completed 15 passes for 282 passing yards and six touchdowns. Franklin also rushed the ball for 78 yards and a score as well.
Senior wide receivers Jaylen Brown and Kaleb Hill combined for 10 receptions and 197 receiving yards.
Defensively, sophomore linebacker Colton Burns led the Pirates surge with a sack. Wheatland gets some time to get healthy as they have a bye this week and focus on their home finale scheduled with Marysville on Friday, October 17.
Lindhurst 41, Elite 22 – The Lindhurst Blazers picked up their first Sierra Delta League win as they beat the Elite Eagles of Vallejo 41-22 on Friday, October 3.
Lindhurst sophomore running back Chan Hicks had a breakout-game with 170 rushing yards on the ground and senior running back Kvonta Phienemanh added 70 yards on the ground.

Blazers defensive coordinator Jeff Pierce Jr. told Yuba Sutter Butte Colusa Sports that Lindhurst is in grind mode and they are focused on the next task at hand.
The Blazers have the opportunity to win their remaining SDL games, but can’t get complacent as they have a tough test when they host Highlands on Friday, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
Roseville 8, Yuba City 0 – The Yuba City Honkers opened Foothill Valley League play with a defensive battle as they fell to Roseville 8-0 on Friday, October 3.
Yuba City’s defense played great as the only yield they allowed on the night was a 30-yard rushing touchdown half-way through the fourth quarter.
Honkers head coach Jonah Lessard expressed to YSBC the defensive effort was great and it is still going to be a battle each week during the FVL games.
Lessard told YSBC that the game this week against Del Campo is going to be a must-win and they have to come out with a good start.
Kick-off in Fair Oaks is scheduled this Friday for 7:30 p.m.
Gridley 50, Willows 0 – The Gridley Bulldogs ended non-league play with a 50-0 shutout victory over Willows on Friday, October 3.
Gridley led by 36 at the half and took control of the game early. Offensively, Bulldogs senior quarterback Eli Punzo completed four passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns.

Gridley rushed for more than 350 yards as a team, which included four different Bulldogs rushing for touchdowns in the end zone.
Gridley junior running back Manny Sandoval rushed for 108 yards in the win with two touchdowns and fellow junior running back Marcus Duncan rushed for 73 yards and a score.
The Bulldogs defense dominated on a week they were expected to and this week, they have a tough test against them to open Westside League play.
Gridley is scheduled to host Orland at the “Boneyard” with kickoff on Friday scheduled for 7:30 p.m.The Bulldogs are searching for their first win against the Trojans since 2021.
Biggs 36, Quincy 6 – The Biggs Wolverines dominated the Quincy Trojans as they got back on track with a 36-6 victory on Friday, October 3.
Biggs haunted Quincy with a prolific run game as the Wolverines combined for more than 350 yards on the ground as a team. Biggs junior running back Cashten Acosta found the end zone twice and rushed for 156 yards in the victory.

Wolverines senior quarterback Skyler Long completed four passes in the game and rushed for 100 yards on the dot.
Defensively, junior linebacker Cameron Kroupa led Biggs with 15 tackles, including 2.0 for loss and a sack. Wolverines senior defensive back Jordan Hoff snagged two interceptions in the win towards Biggs’ first Mid-Valley League win of the season.
Biggs is scheduled to take a long-road trip to Portola this Friday as they are scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
Winters 46, Colusa 0 – The Colusa RedHawks were shutout for the first time in 2025 as the Winters Warriors won 46-0 on Friday, October 3.
Colusa struggled to move the ball offensively as they accumulated 85 total yards of offense in the game and Winters senior quarterback Lane Brown had almost 250 yards offensively in their victory.
The schedule doesn’t get any easier for the RedHawks as they have to travel to Durham this Friday and take on the Trojans. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
